Like the other summer signings on this list, Marcel Hartel would likely be much higher if he played more than nine MLS matches. Anyone that can make this whilst playing 75% less games than most of the league had an impressive run in a short time. For Hartel, he debuted in Leagues Cup at the end of July. In said debut, he converted quite the nonchalant penalty.

Hartel and Cedric Teuchert's arrival revitalized St. Louis City and gave the team a couple of bright spots during a rough season. STL played Portland Timbers twice in three games and Hartel was active in both. A smooth finish in the first matchup won his team the game. Two weeks later, Hartel dished out two assists in a 4-4 draw, including one of the most delicate corner kicks you'll ever see.

In a statement win against the future MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy, Hartel's finishing first-time blow served as the match-winner. He quickly assumed set piece and penalty duties and once again slid home a winning goal against San Jose. In his penultimate match of the season, Hartel put up his second multi-assist match of the year and sprung a dream counter attack with a clipped ball over the top.

A rough season for the team, though a great individual stretch for Hartel, ended on a positive note for the German midfiedler. He capped his season off with a bouncing strike on Decision Day. St. Louis is looking ahead to next season with Hartel at the forefront of its plans. He proved to be a serious force in the attack that the team will hope to rely on for genrating chances. Hartel scored 21 goals and added 14 assists in an unbelievable campaign with St. Pauli before arriving in the States and picked off right where he left off. He comes in at No. 73 and has the potential to be one of the top players in 2025.
