Lewis Morgan had a rough, injury-rittled 2023 after bursting onto the scene the year prior. In 2024, he returend to that version of himself for the MLS Cup appearing New York Red Bulls. Morgan appeared in 34 MLS matches after playing in just five last season. He was a crucial piece going forward for RBNY and led the team in scoring by quite a few goals. The Scotsman won the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award for his contributions. His season was comparable to his 2022 season and can be argued as the best season of his career thus far. Morgan proved his quality when he was in Miami, but took it to a whole different level in a new role for the Red Bulls.

Speaking of his former team in Inter Miami, Morgan dropped three goals against them in a 4-0 thrashing early in the season. He started it early with a calm finish into the bottom left corner and finished it off late with a simple first-time finish. He continued his trend of scoring goals off kickoff with a sixth-minute breakaway finish against New England. Morgan put two past FC Cincinnati, including a seventh-minute strike this time around. In a 4-1 beatdown of Toronto FC, he scored and added two assists, setting up Elias Manoel's capper. Morgan surprisingly did not contribute directly to any goals in the run to MLS Cup, but he was still very much involved and nearly got his team over the finish line.

Morgan scored 13 goals in 2024, just falling short of 2022's 15 goals. He played more of a chance creating role this season, with 0.18 xA per 90. He connected on 0.6 successful crosses per match and created 1.54 chances per 90. The attacker also helped out defensively, blocking over one shot a match and tackling at 76%. He also won the ball back in the final third just under once per 90. Morgan will look to build upon his great season and bring his team back to MLS Cup with the sole goal of winning it this time. Morgan comes in at No. 45.
