Albert Rusnak played arguably the best season of his Major League Soccer career in 2024, amassing 26 goal contributions, the most in his eight seasons in the league. He was the most involved in the attack that he has ever been, even playing in the center of midfield. The Seattle Sounders were the best defensive team in the league and were solid going forward as well. Rusnak made 35 appearances throughout the season and was at the forefront of the team's success throughout. Pedro de la Vega missed plenty of time with injuries, which allowed Rusnak to play in that attacking midfield role more regularly.

The Slovakian had a fairly slow start to the year, with just a few goal contributions deep into May. At the end of the month, he notched his first goal against his former team in Real Salt Lake. The goal kickstarted an incredible run. He scored three goals and assisted five across a five-game span. The Sounders earned 13 out of a possible 15 points over the course of the stretch. In a statement 4-0 road win against Columbus Crew, Rusnak starred with a hat trick. He closed the regular season strong with two goals and two assists in three games heading into the postseason. The Sounders ended up getting bounced by LA Galaxy after a solid run to the Western Conference Final.

Rusnak finished with 10 goals and 16 assists in 2024. His prowess on the ball generated an active attack. Seattle re-signed the midfielder for the next two years as a Designated Player, so he will slot straight back into his role for the Sounders. With a healthy de la Vega and a Jordan Morris in form, the club is returning its top attackers. Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola joined the corps from FC Dallas as well. Rusnak posted an incredible 79% long ball accuracy along with 88.2% pass accuracy overall. He also completed over two crosses per 90 last season. Seattle will remain a team to watch in the West in 2025. Rusnak comes in at No. 22.
