The all-time Philadelphia Union leading goal scorer did not have his best season at the club, but it was still a brilliant one. Daniel Gazdag will likely never touch his incredible 2022 season consisting of 22 goals and 10 assists, though his 17-goal 2024 was jut fine. The team as a whole struggled, but he was was always there to score an important goal when the Union needed it. He took a step back in assists in MLS play with just three, though he actually had the most of his Philly career across all competitions. The team finished 12th in the place, a dissapointing conclusion for a team with talent. They missed the playoffs despite the efforts of their star player.

Gazdag dominated Saprissa in the CONCACAF Champions League and scored against Chicago Fire to open the season. He went on scoring run of five goals in six games early in the campaign as well. He scored his first multi-goal game with a brace in a 3-0 win over New England. He missed part of the season to represent Hungary at EURO 2024. He returned nd later scored a hat trick in a 3-0 beatdown of Nashville. Philly's best advancement of the season was making it to the Leagues Cup semis with Gazdag as a setup man and he scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Columbus. He helped defeat NYCFC 5-1 and DC United 4-0 with three goals in the two matches. The season came to a close after 30 appearances.

The 28-year-old has been integral to everything the Union has done for years and that was no different in 2024. His 17 goals came on an effective 0.61 goals and 0.53 xG per 90. He scored plenty of penalty kicks, as expected. He always converts them, at least in the regular season. He recovered just under six balls per match as well, which is quite high for an attacking midfielder. He won possession in the final third 1.22 times per 90. Philadelphia made a few changes in the offseason, including getting rid of Jack McGlynn. Otherwise, it is rolling with the same attacking group and will hope to just improve intensely. Gazdag comes in at No. 15.
