Week 13 consisted of two matchdays, and it led to a lot of strange games. There wasn't a whole lot of excitement, just in select games. There was an unthinkable amount of draws and no team really stood out as winners of the week, perhaps Houston gets the shoutout here. There were much more examples of teams tanking down the table and struggling as the middle part of the schedule approaches. The Week 13 Power Rankings:

1. VANCOUVER WHITECAPS (-) | 0-0 D ATX

The Vancouver Whitecaps didn't quite look like themselves in a scoreless draw against Austin FC. It took a Yohei Takaoka masterclass to secure the road point in a game they weren't necessarily expected to struggle. Vancouver uncharacteristically failed to create much going forward in a fairly lifeless performance. But, it's likely just a one-off and the Whitecaps have far better things to look forward to—like the upcoming Canadian Championship matchup aaginst Valour FC. But seriously, the next stretch of games is just a waiting game for the CONCACAF Champions Cup final.

2. FC CINCINNATI (+1) | 1-0 W TFC, 1-1 D CLB

FC Cincinnati still hasn't snapped out of their struggles, but it sounds silly to call them that when they're up here at the No. 2 spot. They've won pretty much every game by a single goal, and that was sustainable for the 2021 New England Revolution that won the Supporters' Shield, but it's hard to see that lasting for this team. Evander set up Kevin Ddenkey with a ridiculous overhead pass in Hell is Real, while Cincy barely scraped by Toronto FC midweek in a strange game. Every week, FC Cincinnati gets results, but it still feels like there's another level this team can reach, which should be a scary thought for the rest of the Eastern Conference.

3. COLUMBUS CREW (-1) | 1-1 D MTL, 1-1 D FCC

Columbus Crew did not have a great week, drawing both CF Montreal and FC Cincinnati 1-1. The Montreal draw was a surprising result, especially because the Crew was trailing for some time. The two teams played just a month ago, and Montreal also had a chance to win in that previous matchup. It hasn't been fully sound for Columbus, but this team has enough quality to get back to winning ways. They did most definitely deserve to win Hell is Real, amassing 2.88 xG and only suceeding from the penalty spot. Roman Celentano made a bunch of great saves to keep things level. Ibrahim Aliyu got the start over Jacen Russell-Rowe in the game, but it did not change much. The Crew still need to replace Cucho.

4. PHILADELPHIA UNION (-) | 3-2 W LA, 1-0 W ATL

Not to take anything away from the run Philadelphia is on, but the schedule has been a cupcake one as of late. Five of their last six games were played against teams not in a playoff spot, and the one they did not win was against the playoff team in Columbus. With that being said, the upcoming schedule is not much harder, bar a matchup with the struggling Inter Miami up next. The Union nearly handed LA Galaxy their first win of the campaign, only to turn it into a passionate comeback win. They followed it up with a win over Atlanta, thanks to Andrew Rick and a Tai Baribo penalty—the man who now leads MLS in goals all alone with 11.

5. NASHVILLE SC (+3) | 2-1 W RBNY, 0-0 D DC

Nashville SC took a bad scoreless draw with DC United, but a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls headlines the week for this side. The latter was just a game that was destined for a 0-0 final score. Hany Mukhtar is back to playing top football, so that enough will bring this team back into contention. Sam Surridge has been better this year, but his finishing has still left something to be desired. Nashville has worked well as a unit up to this point and is starting to find a heightened sense of consistency.

6. LOS ANGELES FC (+3) | 4-0 W SEA, 2-2 D LA

LAFC absolutely thrashed Seattle in a statement victory, but the 2-2 draw with LA Galaxy partially negated that statement. LAFC still played a decent game, but allowing the team with the worst start in MLS history to take a point in El Trafico is not a great result. Denis Bouanga scored in both games this week and is back to being his unstoppable self after a weird start to the season. There's still plenty of work to be done, but LAFC is now into fifth place in the West and has their eyes set on reaching even higher places in the table in the near future.

7. ORLANDO CITY SC (+4) | 3-1 W CLT, 3-0 W MIA

Orlando City was on a tear of drawing games, but it's starting to get even better for the Lions. Orlando is very quietly unbeaten in their last 11 games, and the results turned into victories this week. A 3-1 win over Charlotte was a convincing one at home, led by the red-hot Martin Ojeda. Luis Muriel also scored in the game, as he did in the ensuing 3-0 win over Inter Miami on the road. Pedro Gallese served up an assist on that one to go along with his four saves to keep a clean sheet against Miami. Alex Freeman has been absolutely immense at right back and has a USMNT future. The midfield without Eduard Atuesta has looked better recently, thanks to Joran Gerbet's development. Orlando's defense has been much improved.

8. MINNESOTA UNITED (-3) | 2-0 L HOU, 3-0 W STL

Minnesota United did defeat a rough St. Louis City side in 3-0 fashion, but the 2-0 loss to Houston Dynamo midweek looms over the Loons this week. However, the first-choice starting lineup was not deployed in that loss, with the likes of Tani Oluwaseyi, Robin Lod and Joaquin Pereyra on the bench. Pereyra has been so important for this team, as proved by his goal and assist against STL in his return to the XI. Kelvin Yeboah has been absolutely useless and may have lost his spot in the starting lineup entirely if Minnesota sticks with the single striker formation. It will be an interesting situation to keep an eye on, but this is still one of the better teams in the West as a unit.

9. SAN DIEGO FC (+4) | 2-0 W COL, 0-0 D SKC

San Diego FC is now four games unbeaten after a patch of poor form. Anders Dreyer did his thing against Colorado, while Hirving Lozano and Alex Mighten rounded out the attack in that win. As a trio, they created a whopping 12 chances. That doesn't even count the five from Luca de la Torre, four from Anibal Godoy and another two for Jeppe Tverskov. Needless to say, San Diego was all over Colorado with possession and chances, and probably should have left the game with more than two goals. They were then neutralized in a 0-0 draw with Sporting Kansas City, but Dreyer left three points on the table with his two big chances missed.

10. PORTLAND TIMBERS (-) | 0-0 D RSL, 1-1 D SEA

The Portland Timbers had a week of draws, including a 1-1 tie in the Cascadia Cup. Santiago Moreno has been in scoring form, but the Timbers need some other guys to step up in attack. Jonathan Rodriguez still hasn't started a game, and that's a problem. He has only played 149 minutes so far, his 16 goals from last season are what is currently missing. Felipe Mora can score, but he's just a pure finisher. David da Costa is working with what he has as a creator. The Timbers defense has been better as of late though, and that's most important. A 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake isn't a great result, but they can build off the recent lack of losses.

11. INTER MIAMI CF (-4) | 3-3 D SJ, 3-0 L ORL

Inter Miami is a mess. Lionel Messi is crying about the referees after games, even after losing in 3-0 fashion. They have conceded at least three goals in each of the last three games, for a total of 10 goals against. The defense has not been good enough, but they are also getting left out to dry by the rest of the squad. Messi took a total of nine shots against Orlando—only two of which got on target and none of them were dangerous. Luis Suarez hasn't had it going this season either. Miami played an exciting 3-3 draw with San Jose midweek, but that was another disappointing drop of points. They have now won just one of their last seven matches across all competitions, so improvements are needed ahead of a difficult schedule prior to the Club World Cup.

12. NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION (-) | 0-0 D SJ

The New England Revolution still hasn't lost since the first week of April, but wins have turned to draws in the last two games. In a scoreless tie with San Jose, it was a true stalemate between two teams trying to play the same system. The wingbacks took each other out of the game, while the three central defenders for either side kept things under wraps. The Revs did concede the better chances, but they may have been robbed of a win thanks to a shaky offside call on a potential Ignatius Ganago goal. Leo Campana left in the first half with an injury again, so that certainly is a concern. This game was just a display of Bruce Arena knowing his former team and knowing how to shut Carles Gil down.

13. SEATTLE SOUNDERS (-7) | 4-0 L LAFC, 1-1 D POR

The Seattle Sounders had a horrible week. A painful 4-0 loss to LAFC was followed up by a tie iagainst their rivals. Albert Rusnak scored a beautiful goal against Portland, but it didn't hold up for very long. The Sounders were previously on fire, but a difficult stretch schedule-wise handed them a setback this week. Seattle will be just fine in the long run, but the hard stretch continues up until the Club World Cup games, where the level of difficulty will only increase against Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid. The Sounders have been rotating the squad and showing their depth, but the next month might be a rough one regardless.

14. SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES (+2) | 3-3 D MIA, 0-0 D NE

The San Jose Earthquakes played an extremely exciting draw on Wednesday, then did the exact opposite on the weekend. They took two points out of the week and extended the unbeaten streak to four games, so it's looking pretty good for the Quakes right now. Mark-Anthony Kaye did a wonderful job holding down Carles Gil and not allowing the Revs to create much of anything dangerous in the second match. Amahl Pellegrino should have scored one of his chances and given them all three points. In the draw with Miami, Chicho Arango both scored and left the game injured. Ian Harkes scored a beauty to help secure the point.

15. CHICAGO FIRE (+2) | 4-1 W CLT

Brian Gutierrez is breaking out as a star for the Chicago Fire. He scored a brace and assisted another goal in an easy 4-1 win over the faltering Charlotte FC. Beating Charlotte on the road used to be difficult, but the team has crumbled and Chicago took advantage with four goals. Hugo Cuypers surprisingly did not grab one of those, but Philip Zinckernagel and Jonathan Bamba did from the wings. If Gutierrez can keep up this form, Chicago has the potential to climb in the competitive Eastern Conference and find a comfortable place in the playoff spots.

16. NEW YORK CITY FC (+2) | 0-0 D DC, 2-0 W RBNY

New York is blue. NYCFC played the Red Bulls off the field in the Hudson River Derby, which was highlighted by an Alonso Martinez screamer. He needed that one. Maxi Moralez also scored via one of the worst possible giveaways, but they count all the same. Justin Haak and Thiago Martins allowed absolutely nothing to pass. Still, the issue with this team is the lack of production from the wings and virtually anywhere outside of Martinez. If Hannes Wolf and Julian Fernandez could consistently contribute to goals, this team would be a lot more dangerous, but the 0-0 draw with DC United midweek is a good example of what happens when Martinez doesn't finish. To Fernandez's credit, he did create six chances in the draw—four of which were big ones—only for Andres Perea and Martinez to put them anywhere except for the opposition's net.

17. HOUSTON DYNAMO (+7) | 2-0 W MIN, 2-0 W DAL

The Houston Dynamo were better than they were playing, and that came to light this week. They won both matches they played this week by a 2-0 scoreline. Jack McGlynn had an unreal week, creating nine chances and scoring an absolute belter that only his wand of a left foot could. A 2-0 win over Dallas is one thing, but the victory over Minnesota was even more impressive. The backline has been very good, despite some rotation throughout the center back spots. Felipe Andrade has been a solid pickup and can compete with Franco Escobar, while Pablo Ortiz scored against Minnesota and has been a good addition as well.

18. CHARLOTTE FC (-4) | 3-1 L ORL, 4-1 L CHI

When it comes to messes, Charlotte FC is at the top of the pile right now. It virtually came out of nowhere after such success at the start of the year. Pep Biel was heavily overperforming, he has now come back down to earth. But, Liel Abada hasn't been great and the defense has been surprisingly horrible. Patrick Agyemang did score a consolation against Chicago, but he hasn't been up to par either as the starter. Wilfried Zaha has been solid in most games, but his frustration is definitely getting the best of him at times. Kristijan Kahlina has not been Goalkeeper of the Year material recently. Tim Ream should hang up the boots. Charlotte's only win in their last six games was against a USL side in extra time of a US Open Cup match.

19. AUSTIN FC (+1) | 1-1 D ATL, 0-0 D VAN

Austin FC capped a week of draws with an impressive one against the league-leading Vancouver Whitecaps. Myrto Uzuni hasn't brought the same spark he showed in LaLiga 2, while Brandon Vazquez still hasn't found his shooting boots on a consistent basis. Vazquez did score against Atlanta, but Austin was unable to hold onto the win and left points on the board at 90+2'. Osman Bukari played better against Vancouver, but the expensive DP trio simply hasn't come together the way it seemed they could. There's something missing for Austin, who have yet to hit double-digit goals this season—the only team in the West that can say that.

20. COLORADO RAPIDS (-1) | 1-0 L SD, 1-0 W RSL

The Colorado Rapids canceled out a 1-0 loss to San Diego with a 1-0 win against Real Salt Lake, at long last. Djordje Mihailovic had gone missing for a little while, but he showed his face again in the 70th minute to defeat RSL. He still isn't playing his best at the moment. Cole Bassett assisted the winner and finally contributed to his team going forward after falling well short of his nine goal, seven assist season from a year ago thus far. Nicholas Defreitas kept a clean sheet in his second MLS start in net with Zack Steffen out injured.

21. NEW YORK RED BULLS (-6) | 2-1 L NSH, 2-0 L NYC

The New York Red Bulls are in some trouble. For a team that won a game 7-0 just three matches ago, that's probably not a common sentence. RBNY was doing enough to get by at the start of the season, but it's starting to catch up with them. The Red Bulls lost the Hudson River Derby and dropped a visit to Nashville as well. Eric Choupo-Moting has been scoring goals, but Emil Forsberg has been fairly inconsistent. He hardly impacted the game in either instance this week. Carlos Coronel made one of the worst goalkeeping mistakes ever in the loss to NYCFC to cap off the brutal loss.

22. TORONTO FC (+1) | 1-0 L FCC, 6-1 W MTL

It was a game against CF Montreal to be fair, but Toronto FC absolutely lit up the Canadian Classique. TFC really hasn't been playing all that bad as of late, but they're still 3-7-4 at the end of the day. Federico Bernardeschi had an incredible performance, scoring one of his classic left-footed curlers in the win. Ola Brynhildsen finally got on the scoresheet, Tyrese Spicer got in behind with his pace and all of the starting midfielder registered an assist. Theo Corbeanu subbed into the game late and scored two goals on his birthday with blazing pace. Toronto should be proud of the blowout win and can build on this group performance.

23. DC UNITED (+2) | 0-0 D NYC, 0-0 D NSH

Eventful week in the nation's capital. DC United didn't concede a goal, nor did they score one across two games. Christian Benteke played only 20 minutes, so that singlehandedly explains the second part. The rest of the credit can be given to Luis Barraza, who made six saves and denied all 2.23 xGOT he faced against his former club in NYCFC. He made five more saves to keep things level against Nashville. Clean sheets aren't a common occurrence for DCU, so they can take these two matches as a positive, mostly.

24. SPORTING KANSAS CITY (+2) | 2-2 D STL, 0-0 D SD

Sporting Kansas City also drew two games this week, as was a recurring theme among the league. They drew a fellow bad team and drew a good team, so it can be judged right in the middle. John Pulskamp kept a clean sheet against San Diego in a fairly boring contest. Santiago Munoz made his first start after coming over on loan from Santos Laguna and mostly just got hacked down all 84 minutes. Manu Garcia has slowed down recently, though he did play well in the 2-2 draw with St. Louis. Dejan Joveljic and Daniel Salloi contributed to that point, but were left out of the lineup in the latter match. SKC still lives near the bottom of the West.

25. FC DALLAS (-3) | 2-0 L HOU

FC Dallas lost 2-0 to Houston in an extremely quiet Copa Teja contest. The tarped off Toyota Stadium stands due to renovations really takes the air out of any FC Dallas home game at this point, and the team had the air taken out of it as well. Petar Musa badly needs to get back in shape and into scoring form for Dallas. Luciano Acosta played one of his better games, to no avail. They managed three shots on target and gave up two second half goals from outside the box in a game they didn't really deserve any better in.

26. REAL SALT LAKE (-4) | 0-0 D POR, 1-0 L COL

Real Salt Lake remains a very not fun team.Diego Luna is fun, but that's the only toy they have to play with. Pablo Ruiz returned to the starting lineup and was solid. They tried something different with Tyler Wolff and Zavier Gozo on the wings against Colorado, benching the likes of Dominik Marczuk, but no improvement there. The winger play has been abysmal and has left this RSL attack lifeless outside of Luna. Willy Agada tried to make some things happen. Johnny Russell made his 15-minute debut and had 13 meaningless touches. The previous home draw against Portland is a good result against a solid team, but celebrating draws at this point is not ideal.

27. CF MONTREAL (-) | 1-1 D CLB, 6-1 L TFC

CF Montreal had the high of holding a lead over perhaps the best team in the Eastern Conference, only to end the week with a five-goal loss to their rivals. The 1-1 draw with Columbus was not fully earned, but it was a good point regardless. The 6-1 loss was fully earned, and they deserved every last bit of the punishment. Giacomo Vrioni has now scored three goals in five matches with Montreal, so their only DP is actually performing. The very talked about issue of him being the single one on the roster has already been beaten to a pulp, and everyone knows Montreal will stay largely irrelevant until they actually spend money. It's genuinely difficult to put up a horrible performance at home of that magnitude, and they did so against a team that was three points ahead pregame.

28. ATLANTA UNITED (-) | 1-1 D ATX, 1-0 L PHI

Atlanta United xDAWG numbers are at an all-time low. No one on this team wants it. There's no fight, no heart and the supposed plethora of skill entering the season is non-existent. Emmanuel Latte Lath cost $22m and is now getting benched a few months into the season. There's nothing good to say about Atlanta United, other than that the season comes closer to ending every day. Is there still a way back for Atlanta this season? Sure, nine teams make the playoffs after all. All it takes is a few summer wins with some of the most expensive players in the league, like Miguel Almiron, to get going. But, that's currenty a very long way away from the current product of the team. Jamal Thiare saved a point in stoppage time in Austin, but in the grand scheme of things it's just another non-win in an eight-game winless run.

29. ST. LOUIS CITY SC (-) | 2-2 D SKC, 3-0 L MIN

The woes of St. Louis City continue. On the topic of winless runs, theirs now stands at 10. The first four games of the season were truly magical, they did not concede a single goal. Since then, they've scored seven goals total and lose almost every game. They didn't lose the midweek match against SKC, where Celio Pompeu scored an unreal curler. Cedric Teuchert scored the luckiest goal he knew nothing about. Marcel Hartel thrived, but has not been the player St. Louis needs so far, but not really to his own fault. The 3-0 loss to Minnesota was more of the same, just a bad performance. Not even the return of Roman Burki will save this team.

30. LA GALAXY (-) | 3-2 L PHI, 2-2 D LAFC

What even is the Los Angeles Galaxy? I mean, how on earth were they even holding a 2-0 lead on the road against the Eastern Conference leaders midweek? Marco Reus assisted two goals in six minutes and watched as his team had a normal 2025 LA Galaxy collapse to lose 3-2. But, it's not all bad. Reus might actually be useful now, he followed up those two assists in a loss with two goals in a draw—that's an upgrade! His 87th minute free kick captured the pure magic of El Trafico as the Galaxy played up to the moment and fought for a 2-2 draw. Gabriel Pec thought he finally scored, but was caught offside. Again, surely the Galaxy don't have the worst roster in the league, but they're just so far out of everything with a league-worst start of 0-10-4 through the first 14 matches.
