The 11-game mark means that the Major League Soccer season is already over 30 percent over with. It's hard to believe considering the season just started, but that's just the nature of the early season. Everything is so wildly tight in both conferences, namely the top of the East and the middle portions of the West. The Eastern Conference has so many elite teams, while the West only happens to have one at this point in time. The early MVP race is also strange, as everyone is playing well in bunches. There hasn't been a whole lot of consistency from players on a week-to-week basis, it's been streaky across the board. But, the good teams have been separated from the bad teams at this point, and some of those familiar squads are starting to emerge. The Week 11 Power Rankings:

1. VANCOUVER WHITECAPS (-) | 2-1 W RSL

Winning ways continue for the Whitecaps. There is truly no debate for the best team in Major League Soccer here at the beginning of May, the Vancouver Whitecaps should be No. 1 in everyone's mind. This team has so much depth that they win games regardless who's on the field. It's easy to forget that this team's best player in Ryan Gauld has missed out on practically the whole season, which is just unheard of for a team playing this well. Brian White was certainly missed in the 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake considering replacement Daniel Rios missed a penalty, but a masterclass from Tristan Blackmon and Co. increased the point total to 26. Vancouver is currently on pace for 80 points, six more than the record.

2. COLUMBUS CREW (+1) | 4-2 W CLT

Columbus welcomed one of the better defenses in MLS into their home and proceeded to drop four goals against Charlotte. The Crew easily could have had more as well. The goal scoring was quite spread out in the 4-2 win, as AZ Jackson and Dylan Chambost got on the board. Diego Rossi has certainly left a little to be desired with his finishing this season, as he has missed a team-high seven big chances, but he looks good from the penalty spot. Max Arfsten and Jacen Russell-Rowe connected on a lovely capper to put the Crew right in the mix for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

3. INTER MIAMI CF (+1) | 4-1 W RBNY

Inter Miami put an end to a rough patch with a 4-1 thrashing of the New York Red Bulls. Lionel Messi scored his first goal in a month through a wild sky-high combination with Telasco Segovia. Luis Suarez put in a 58-minute shift worth a goal and an assist. With CCC out of the way, Miami can focus on the next six MLS matches uninterrupted prior to the commencement of the Club World Cup in June. Inter Miami is still one of the top teams in the league and will be competing for the Eastern Conference crown all year long.

4. PHILADELPHIA UNION (+1) | 2-1 W MTL

Indiana Vassilev was going to have to take on a bigger role with the departure of Daniel Gazdag, and he planted a lovely finish into the back of the net just two minutes into a 2-1 victory over Montreal. The win was not convincing, but Mikael Uhre got the job done in the final moments. Chris Donovan strangely got the start over Uhre and Bruno Damiani, but it worked out for three points in the end. Jovan Lukic was fantastic in the middle and providede the game-winning assist. The midfield partnership with Danley Jean Jacques is starting to blossom.

5. FC CINCINNATI (-3) | 1-0 L NYC

It was like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. FC Cincinnati's form of winning during their five-game winning streak was unsustainable, and the 1-0 loss to New York City FC was the culmination. All five games were won by one goal and Cincy has certainly not been playing up to expectation throughout the entire 90 minutes of matches. In the loss to NYCFC, everything went wrong. The film on Kevin Denkey coming into the league is that he's a pure scorer and isn't going to create for himself. Evander was absolutely shut down on Citi Field, leading to Denkey attempting zero shots. Luca Orellano and DeAndre Yedlin created the chances, to no avail. Matt Miazga has been very rough since returning from injury. Perhaps the fact they finally lost a game will be the wake up call FCC needs.

6. MINNESOTA UNITED (+4) | 3-0 W ATX

Minnesota United absolutely had to have a result in Austin, and a 3-0 win will certainly do. After a three-game stretch without a win and barely any goals, Joaquin Pereyra stepped up in a big way. Kelvin Yeboah missed the game due to an injury he suffered in the previous match and Tani Oluwaseyi was held to nothing, so the striker situation is still a worry. But, Pereyra did a bit of everything and Anthony Markanich, who surprisingly started over Joseph Rosales, grabbed a goal as well. The defense held strong and Julian Gressel made a Loons debut.

7. CHARLOTTE FC (-1) | 4-2 L CLB

Worry isn't exactly creeping in quite yet, but Charlotte FC has suffered two consecutive losses. Kristijan Kahlina had a brutal day with another in-game injury and a rough mistake that led to a goal. Liel Abada conceded a penalty and atoned for his sins with a goal of his own, while Wilfried Zaha scored the other one from the opposite penalty spot. Charlotte did not look cohesive and dropped the match in Columbus, the first of three straight away MLS games. The Crown is still a competitor in the East, but they've lost some ground in the past two weeks.

8. SEATTLE SOUNDERS (+4) | 4-1 W STL

Here come the Seattle Sounders. A 4-1 win over St. Louis marks a run of four straight games unbeaten, along with four straight games with a goal for Danny Musovski. The Sounders are now just one win out of second place in the West, considering the weak state of the conference compared to its Eastern counterpart. There truly wasn't a bad performance on the field. Nouhou finished off an incredible performance with a shot smashed into the top corner. The Roldans, Obed Vargas and Albert Rusnak controlled the game in full. Ryan Kent is a game changer. Seattle took 29 shots in the win and should be expected to keep this pressure up down the stretch.

9. ORLANDO CITY SC (-1) | 0-0 D CHI

In one of the strangest direct correlations possible, Orlando City has tied all four games in which Eduard Atuesta didn't start this season by a score of 0-0. When Atuesta starts, Orlando is 4-2-1. His defense-to-attack transition game apparently is a must-have for Orlando City to score goals. The decision to bench Martin Ojeda in back-to-back games is just ludicrous from Oscar Pareja. To make matters even worse, Chicago Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady was sent off in the 36th minute. Orlando still lost the xG battle and failed to score, all while putting just three of 24 shot attempts on target. The Lions may be eight games unbeaten, but it sounds far less impressive when over half of those are draws. They now sit all alone at the top of the MLS draws leaderboard, with five.

10. LOS ANGELES FC (+6) | 2-0 W HOU

There was always going to be a point where Denis Bouanga turns it on, and that happened against San Jose four matches ago. Since then, Bouanga has scored four goals and assisted two, providing a contribution in every game. LAFC still has not won enough games for the talent this team has, but a 2-0 win over Houston Dynamo is a good step in the right direction. They have not lost in the last four games and have shot up in the Western Conference table. It was a simply solid performance across the defense and midfield, capped off with a late Jeremy Ebobisse goal off the bench. Do not be surprised to see LAFC right under Vancouver in the table very soon.

11. NASHVILLE SC (-) | 1-1 D ATL

Nashville SC visited the struggling Atlanta United and left with a point. Hany Mukhtar has been playing a whole lot better, but he does need to be more clinical. He missed a crucial opportunity to win, but he did assist the Daniel Lovitz equalizer. All things considered, it was a fairly lifeless game and Nashville cannot be too angry to leave with a 1-1 result, even with the current state of Atlanta United.

12. NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION (+2) | 2-0 W TFC

Excellence continues for Caleb Porter's New England Revolution, as the Revs have not conceded a goal in their last 395 minutes of play. This has truly been an unreal turnaround, as New England now sits in a playoff position, despite playing one less game than everyone except Inter Miami. The Revolution are one win out of top-five in the East and their 16 points place them No. 13 in the Supporters' Shield standings. The 2-0 victory over Toronto FC marked the team's fourth straight clean sheet win. The 3-5-2/3-4-1-2 plays to the advantage of the three center backs, as well as Alhassan Yusuf and Matt Polster in the middle. Ilay Feingold was fabulous, Carles Gil scored another beauty and Leonardo Campana looked like the striker this team needs.

13. PORTLAND TIMBERS (-6) | 4-1 L SJ

Just when everything was going right for the Portland Timbers, they got their doors blown off by the inconsistent San Jose Earthquakes. The Timbers did not necessarily get dominated, it was just a day where their opponents struck three times in 11 minutes, a point of no return. Portland outshot the Quakes 17-15, but only five of those were on target and Felipe Mora's finish was their only goal. David da Costa created five chances and is consistently playing the attacking midfield position at a high level. The 4-1 loss is one the Timbers must just forget about and move on from.

14. SAN DIEGO FC (+5) | 5-0 W DAL

San Diego entered the match against FC Dallas with three straight losses, and it was evident early on that was going to change. Hirving Lozano played his best match in a SDFC shirt, scoring two goals and assisting another. Anders Dreyer finally got back to scoring ways as well. Dreyer also assisted two other goals and is developing a strong connection with Lozano. He played a more central role in the attack, as Mikey Varas didn't force Onni Valakari at striker this time around, and it worked like a charm. Valakari came on later and scored anyway, as did Milan Iloski. The 5-0 win was much more like it.

15. NEW YORK CITY FC (+2) | 1-0 W FCC

Alonso Martinez needs to figure out his penalty kick taking situation, but NYCFC got an important job done at home against FC Cincinnati. The 1-0 win was the third of its kind across the last four contests. Julian Fernandez's calm placement was all it took to grab three points. Matt Freese kept a clean sheet and the young Jonny Shore bossed the midfield with five tackles. That number sounds crazy enough until you hear that Hannes Wolf, an attacking-minded player, won a whopping six tackles. NYCFC's cupcake upcoming schedule has things really looking up for this club in the near future. If new sources can contribute to the attack, like Fernandez, and the stout defensive effort continues, there's plenty of hope.

16. COLORADO RAPIDS (-7) | 2-1 L DC

The Colorado Rapids have only lost three games this season, but they've lost some pretty rough ones so far. Falling to DC United is a bad result for a team trying to compete in the Western Conference. Djordje Mihailovic was held to absolutely nothing, as he created not a single chance after garnering six in that category last week. Rafael Navarro did connect with Darren Yapi for the lone Rapids goal, but that was about the only positive for Colorado on the night. Jackson Travis got a second straight start at left back and Cole Bassett missed the game due to injury.

17. AUSTIN FC (-4) | 3-0 L MIN

The Austin FC party is over in 2025. A decent run in late March gave some hope to the ATX faithful, but that hope has all but vanished at this point. It's hard to write about the same exact thing every single week, but Austin does not have the ability to score goals. Brandon Vazquez touched the ball just 28 times in 90 minutes during a 3-0 loss to Minnesota. Osman Bukari missed a couple bad chances and Myrto Uzuni had nothing to say either. Brad Stuver made perhaps the most egregious goalkeeping mistake of the MLS season, letting a ball phase right through his torso. With just seven goals for and a defense that is actively getting worse, Austin FC does not have any redeeming qualities right now.

18. NEW YORK RED BULLS (-3) | 4-1 L MIA

The New York Red Bulls were never going to put up a fight against a full-strength Inter Miami with the way they are currently playing. It was fairly surprising that Mohammed Sofo was able to connect with Eric Choupo-Moting for a goal at all. Carlos Coronel only faced six shots on his goal, but four of those went past him and into the net. Emil Forsberg didn't help much. The midfield and defense were net negatives. The Red Bulls have won enough games up to this point to remain in the hunt, but the lack of difference makers on this team makes it difficult to see the reigning Eastern Conference champions flip a switch.

19. SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES (+5) | 4-1 W POR

The most recent turn of the fun inconsistency that is the San Jose Earthquakes was a victory over one of the league's surging teams. DeJuan Jones' first start back under Bruce Arena could not have gone any better, as he assisted two goals and was fantastic in the new system. Cristian Espinoza has never been much of a goal scorer compared to his ability to create, but when in position to, he's a great finisher. Espinoza scored twice and Ousseni Bouda dominated on the other side. Rodrigues being benched for Max Floriani and Daniel Munie is a tad questionable, but everything went well in the 4-1 win over Portland. If you want to be entertained as a neutral, watch San Jose games.

20. FC DALLAS (-2) | 5-0 L SD

FC Dallas got thumped, no way to sugarcoat it. There really isn't anything specific to say, they were just really bad and earned a deserved 5-0 loss to San Diego. Luciano Acosta has not been the player many expected this season, but it was always going to be a strange fit for him in this side, especially with Petar Musa out injured. Dallas is a team that could compete for a play-in spot on some of their best days, but that's probably the ceiling.

21. HOUSTON DYNAMO (-1) | 2-0 L LAFC

Bad got worse for Houston Dynamo when Franco Escobar was sent packing at the end of the match. Escobar has always been in a constant battle with discipline, and that certainly was the case against his former team. Houston literally did not do anything in said game anyway. For the first time in MLS history, Ondrej Lingr did not score in a game in which he played. He probably thought this was the easiest league in the world, but that will not be the case for a fluctuating team like the Dynamo. He did, however, complete every pass he attempted across his 89 minutes. Jonathan Bond did make eight saves, but a mistake leading to a goal could open the door for Blake Gillingham, who was unfairly benched. Poor performance, poor 2-0 result without a shot on goal.

22. CHICAGO FIRE (-) | 0-0 D ORL

On one hand, Chicago Fire could be happy to survive a red card brandished to their starting goalkeeper that forced them to play down a man for 54 minutes. In reality, the 0-0 draw was still a game they absolutely could not lose. Hugo Cuypers managed to miss four big chances right in front of goal. Philip Zinckernagel was dribbling all over Orlando, completing six dribbles and Sergio Oregel created four chances, though he missed one of the six big chances Chicago created as well. The Fire are going to be kicking themselves that they did not win this game, despite the Chris Brady sending off. Big picture, a total of 10 big chances were created and missed in the game, so a scoreless result is fitting.

23. REAL SALT LAKE (-2) | 2-1 L VAN

Zavier Gozo brought some much-needed life to Real Salt Lake, fairly earning the starting job over a lackluster Dominik Marczuk. He has now played back-to-back full 90's, and in the 2-1 loss to Vancouver, he created three chances and was active all over the pitch. Diego Luna was largely uninvolved until RSL was handed a penalty at the very conclusion of the match. Rafael Cabral made an impressive penalty save on Daniel Rios, but it was also he who committed that penalty. Diogo Goncalves just isn't good enough and the striker position has been dreadful all year. Willy Agada hopes to fix the latter problem, he made a one-half debut but was not given a chance to do anything besides his daily dose of cardio. Johnny Russell, 35, hopes to help the winger woes, but he did not debut in the loss.

24. DC UNITED (+4) | 2-1 W COL

DC United has quietly put together two really good wins in the last three games. How they've done it is sort of a mystery, but it sure helped to have Christian Benteke back in the lineup to dunk on people. Hosei Kijima put a curler off the crossbar early, only to get his goal later on, which held up as the match-winner. Brandon Servania got the luckiest assist of his entire soccer career on the Benteke goal, it just deflected off his back to the exact spot it had to go. Aaron Herrera and David Schnegg did their jobs as wingbacks. DC has now defeated two teams as of late that are very much above them in the table, but it's still extremely difficult to imagine this trend continuing given the state of the roster as a whole.

25. ATLANTA UNITED (-) | 1-1 D NSH

At least it's not a loss. Atlanta United has now gone five straight games without winning one. In that span, they have been outscored 9-2 by opponents. Perhaps the decision from Ronny Deila to allow Miguel Almiron to roam the middle of the field directly corrolates to not losing the game. Alexey Miranchuk has been better deeper, and his four interceptions are a testament to that. Brooks Lennon created the Almiron goal on a cross, which is what he does best, much better than defending. Now, the bad news: Emmanuel Latte Lath is in a serious rut. Across the last five games, he's hardly been a threat in the four he played in and missed one due to yellow card accumulation. Saba Lobjanidze hasn't scored a single goal yet. The 1-1 draw ended the losing streak, but it continues the winless one.

26. SPORTING KANSAS CITY (+1) | 1-0 W LA

How high can you rise when you win a game with zero shot attempts? Evidently, not much, but it's three points. Sporting Kansas City became the first team in MLS history to win a game without attempting a shot. No, not on goal, they didn't take a shot in the entire game. Maya Yoshida put the ball in his own net to give SKC all three points. John Pulskamp was only forced into action once, but he made a great save to secure the win. It goes without saying that there was nothing offensively and Dejan Joveljic was hardly seen against his former team. We'll leave it at that, the absurdity of this sort of speaks for itself.

27. ST. LOUIS CITY SC (-4) | 4-1 L SJ

At this point, it can be concluded that St. Louis City is just bad at soccer. It has now been seven games without a win. In those seven games, St. Louis has scored just four goals compared to the 12 they have conceded. Marcel Hartel scored his second goal of the season from the penalty spot and continues to show how little help he has going forward. Eduard Lowen made a 21-minute cameo off the bench for the first time since his red card on March 22. Seattle just took the game over and scored four goals on 3.83 xG. St. Louis generated nothing outside of the penalty kick and lost 4-1.

28. TORONTO FC (-2) | 2-0 L NE

Toronto FC lost 2-0 against the blazing New England Revolution at BMO Field. It was another nothingness performance from TFC, who also got eliminated from the Canadian Championship this week. Toronto managed just two shots on goal and Federico Bernardeschi was not the taker of either, despite his seven attempts. There were times where it genuinely was unclear if he was actually aiming for the goal frame. Sean Johnson came alive with five saves, a few of them being a show of incredible acrobatics. Theo Corbeanu has been a fresh spark for Toronto FC and could really be a crucial piece for a competitive MLS team with his serious pace. Alonso Coello served as creator for all the chances that ended up anywhere but Aljaz Ivacic's goal.

29. CF MONTREAL (-) | 2-1 L PHI

CF Montreal was the team to eliminate Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship, and they are also the team to lose yet another game in MLS play. The two Canadian Eastern Conference teams have a combined one win, and that win does not belong to Montreal. The hardest part to explain is that they really aren't playing that badly in many of these games. For a moment, it seemed like Montreal was on track to defeat Philadelphia Union, but VAR ruled against a penalty, and they gave up the late goal instead. Giacomo Vrioni scored in both of Montreal's games this week, so at least the first 90 minutes or so of the lone DP's new beginning has been productive. George Campbell has played well in pretty much every game this season. It really isn't all negative in Montreal, they just have failed to win a single game out of 11.

30. LA GALAXY (-) | 1-0 L SKC

LA Galaxy must've done some secret sacrifical rituals to win the cup last season, because it seems that every ounce of luck they had last year has turned into the worst possible thing you could imagine this year, time and time again. This time out, they became the first team ever to lose a game while ceding zero shot attempts. It's really hard to figure out what the issues are outside of Riqui Puig being out of the squad, because as much as that is why the Galaxy are 0-8-3, it's hard to believe that accounts for the entire story. Of course, Mark Delgado, Gaston Brugman and Dejan Joveljic also left, but acting like a squad of Joseph Paintsil, Gabriel Pec, Christian Ramirez and Marco Reus isn't capable of winning a game is just silly. The Galaxy absolutely dominated SKC and have done so in multiple games as of late, but scoring goals has become foreign to the DP winger duo. One-third through the season without a win, it's still hard to imagine that this team will end up in the Wooden Spoon race in October, there's just too much quality for that.
